PLAYOFFS

A tie for the Championship will be decided by a hole-by-hole playoff immediately following conclusion of play.  Any competitor involved in a playoff and not immediately available assumes the last playoff position.  Multiple no-shows for playoffs shall be decided by lot.

SOCIAL DISTANCING MEASURES

  • Masks are required to enter the Clubhouse
  • Social distancing measures will be in place all day and MUST be practiced.
  • No handshaking or elbow bumping is permitted.
  • Maintain at least six feet of separation from everyone at all times
  • Please bring your own hand sanitizer and use as often as you can, especially before and after using any washrooms.
  • Maintain a safe distance while handling goods and making transactions.
  • Protective barriers shall be used to protect cashiers and customers in payment transaction areas.
  • Observe floor markings and barriers to maintain proper traffic flow and physical distancing between customers where line-ups can form.
  • Limits to the number of people allowed in the same area will be imposed.

 

PROTECTING YOURSELF AND OTHERS

  • Stay home if:
    • You are feeling unwell,
    • You have traveled outside Canada within the past 14 days,
    • You have a new or worsening cough or fever,
    • You have been advised by a medical professional to self-isolate.
  • Avoid contact with people who are sick.
  • Practice respiratory etiquette, including coughing and sneezing into your arm. Dispose of tissues immediately into trash receptacles.

 

ARRIVAL TIME PRIOR TO EVENT:

Players will be allowed to arrive no earlier than sixty (60) minutes prior to their tee time in order to adequately warm up.

 

CARTS AND ON-COURSE EQUIPMENT

Cart Options have been added to the entry options. You must adhere to the host facility cart rules.  

  • All golf carts will be staged in designated areas.
  • Golfers shall load/unload their own golf bags on to carts.
  • All golf carts shall be limited to one rider only
  • Push carts rentals can be purchased at the pro shop for $5.00
  • No sand/seed bottles shall be provided in carts or elsewhere on the property.
  • No tees, scorecards or pencils will be put on carts.
  • Designated cart staging areas shall be created for the safe return of carts using physical barriers or signage.
  • Players will be responsible for removing garbage out of their cart and taking it home with them to dispose of.
  • Carts will be washed, wiped and sanitized after each use.
  • Water coolers or water stations will not be available on course

 

CHECK-IN WITH THE TOURNAMENT CONVENOR

Players are asked to check-in at the 1st tee no less than 5 minutes prior to their tee time, while maintaining physical distance.  Players will be sent in advance by electronic means a pin sheet, hard card and rules sheet for the Senior Championship that MUST be printed off for use at the tournament. None will be provided onsite.

 

SCORING

No exchange of scorecards between players before or after their round; final score verification will take place verbally behind the 18th green.

  • A final scoring area will be established using social distancing measures whereby you can check your scores and your playing partner can attest them.
  • You will be asked to re-read your scores to your playing partners and to our team for verification.
  • Please sign your own score card on the LEFT SIDE to attest for your playing partner’s score
  • Please sign your own scorecard on the RIGHT SIDE to verify your own score that has been read by your scorer.  
  • Drop your scorecard into the box provided when all scores are verified.  
  • Scoring will be final once you have submitted your scorecard.
  • Final results will be available online

 

DRIVING RANGE

The driving range will be open, players will be required to retrieve their bucket of balls from the ProShop front window.

 

WASHROOMS

  • Clubhouse washroom with use of a mask are open
  • On-Course washrooms are open.
  • All washrooms (including on-course washrooms) are sanitized at least ever hour.

 

PROSHOP

Pro Shop is closed and a Pro Shop front window is the service window.

 

CLUBHOUSE AND FACILITIES

  • Masks are required to enter the Clubhouse
  • Limited clubhouse access.  Only available for washrooms and takeout food and beverage.
  • Clubhouse access and entrance points shall be limited. All clubs shall map out flow and plan for customer/employee access to each facility to minimize touch points.
  • Wherever possible, doors will be propped open to minimize touch points.
  • Local management shall determine the appropriate location of the emergency first aid equipment to ensure accessibility with current property modifications.
  • The patio is open.

 

TIME OF STARTING   

  • Starters will provide detailed instructions to each group on how to proceed throughout the course.
  • In order to safely maintain each group’s position throughout the property, playing through will not be permitted.

All players in a group must be present and READY TO PLAY at the time laid down by the Committee. READY TO PLAY is defined as being on or near the player's first tee accompanied with the necessary equipment needed to put a ball in play. Should players not be ready to play, they will not be permitted to participate.  

 

BUNKERS

  • Bunker rakes, benches and ball washers have been removed from the course.
  • No rakes are in the bunkers so please repair your footprints by using your feet.  If a player’s ball ends up in a footprint or unmaintained area of the bunker, they are entitled to mark, lift and place within 6″ no closer to the hole.  If a player’s ball is originally plugged in an unmaintained area of the bunker, they must re-plug the ball within 6″ no closer to the hole.

 

FLAGSTICKS

  • The flag will remain in at all times – DO NOT REMOVE THE FLAG!
  • A mechanism to safely retrieve golf balls from holes without touching flagsticks has been installed. All golfers are asked to refrain from touching the flagsticks.

 

CADDIES

  • Caddies are not permitted at this time.

 

SPECTATORS

  • Spectators are not permitted at this time.

 

EVACUATION PLAN

Should a weather event take place that requires golfers to evacuate the golf course, please return to your personal vehicles immediately following a suspension of play in an effort to prohibit large gatherings.

 

FOOD & BEVERAGE

  • The patio is open on a first come first served basis.
  • Tables will be spaced 2 metres apart and those not residing in the same household will be required to sit 2 metres apart while at the table.
  • Servers will be equipped with PPE, will back away from tables quickly after delivering food and drinks and must limit their time spent within 2 metres of guests at all times.
  • Tables will not be pre-set with cutlery, glassware, condiments, etc.
  • Tables and chairs will be cleaned and disinfected in between use.

 

CONFECTIONERY ITEMS

  • Limited pre-packaged confectionery items and drinks will be available in one designated location.
  • Employees will not handle re-usable bags or containers, including water bottles, from customers.
  • Merchandise shall be available for purchase including (gloves, balls, sunscreen, and hats)
  • NO ALCOHOL OR SUBSTANCES PERMITTED BEFORE OR DURING YOUR ROUND

 

RULES OF GOLF; CLOSE OF COMPETITION; CONFORMING GOLF BALLS; CONFORMING DRIVERS

  1. Golf Canada's Rules of Golf will govern all play. The PGA of Ontario Tournament Rules Committee shall have the final decision on all claims and disputes.  
  2. Only brands of golf balls on the most current List of Conforming Golf Balls may be used.
  3. Any driver selected for play must have a clubhead that is listed on the most current List of Conforming Driver Heads.

 

TRAVEL

The PGA of Ontario assumes no responsibility for entrants' travel arrangements. The PGA of Ontario advises entrants not to book travel or room arrangements prior to confirmation of tournament acceptance unless those arrangements can be cancelled without penalty.

 

GROOVE SPECIFICATIONS

The Local Rule for groove and punch mark specifications, effective January 1, 2010, has been adopted as a condition of competition for all PGA of Ontario events. DRESS CODE

Competitors must adhere to the PGA of Ontario Dress Code which is also available in the competitor registration package.

 

THE USE OF CONTRABAND SUBSTANCES AND THE CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL DURING COMPETITION

The use of contraband substances and the consumption of alcohol during the course of play of a PGA of Ontario Playing Ability Test and/or Tournament event is strictly prohibited.  Any player found in breach of this rule will be deemed to have conducted themselves in a manner unbecoming of a Member of our Association and will face a penalty set forth by the Tournament Committee

 

MEASURING DEVICES

A player may obtain distance information by using a device that:  MEASURES DISTANCE ONLY
However, if a distance measuring device has additional functionality that can gauge or measure other conditions that might affect a player’s play (e.g. elevation change, wind speed, etc.), the use of any such additional function would be a breach of Rule 4.3a.

 

ELECTRONIC AUDIO OR VIDEO DEVICES

During a round, a player must not listen to or watch content of any nature on a personal audio or video device. Rule 4.3

  • Penalty for first breach from single act or related acts: Two Strokes
  • Penalty for second breach unrelated to first breach: Disqualification
